south korea amusement parks

Week 4, 2012
Joensuu, Finland

Oh, my playful me! As much as I enjoy learning, traveling, discovering, being in the nature,….  I also like amusement parks. 🙂 Actually, I should write a post of my last trip to Disney, even if it was some years ago. It was AWESOME! I traveled with my mom (only she and I), I got an overdose of Mickey Mouse while I was having a great time 😉 I played all what I could play! and my mom was my accomplice in the whole thing! So cool!  🙂

However, this post aims to add publicly two destinations into my wishing list of amusement parks that I would like to visit.  I foresee that sooner than later I will be visiting Korea.

The first park is the 4D Life Park, which it  utilizes – apparently – creatively the digital technology. Playing with light and sound is something SO appealing for me, interactivity, images, all those special effects…. (thanks Teemu for the info!)   Yes, a place I want to experience! .  Second, and because I would be already visiting Korea, I should drop by Robotland.

It feels as if future is meeting our present, strange!

joining the internet strike by spreading the word

Week 3, 2012
Joensuu, Finland

My life, as the one of millions or billions of virtual dwellers, is tightly involved with the technology, particularly with the Internet.  For me, the technology is as important as the content that it transmits.

In resent weeks I have been reflecting about information and content. I have experienced different ways in which we handle the information nowadays. Consequently my awareness related to information and its accessibility has been increasing (a post about this will come).  As we all know information is power. Information help us to grow as individuals and as community.

The Internet helps us greatly to transmit information beyond boundaries. Internet serves as an amplifier of creators of content so more individuals can read / listen / watch their information. Therefore, Internet helps us to share information.

As an Internet dweller, I feel the responsibility – and still is my right – to be respectful with the authors of the information that is available, but also to express whatever I want on Internet and to share the information that I want with whom ever I want. I am – still- FREE to do so. Thus, I am against of any attempt of a legislation that attempts to detriment my rights and my freedom. I found unbelievable the initiatives that want to attack the freedom of Internet dwellers. Therefore I want to join, somehow, the actual Internet strike by sharing some information:

SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA (Protect IP Act) in US
ACTA (Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agrement) – in US, Europe, Japan …
Ley Doring in Mexico
Ley Sinde in Spain

The following videos help me to understand the potential implications of previously cited law proposals. The videos explain things differently, however one video is in Spanish (the first one) the second in English.

things to remember: work – love – play

week 6 of 2011
Joensuu, Finland

In this week, my main activity was writing, writing…. more writing. Afterward a little bit of reading to be able to think then I can continue  writing.

Also I prepared myself, some how, for the very busy following weeks.

My outstanding activity on this week was: I bake a delicious cake for a birthday party. I rarely bake cakes since I am in Finland. I mainly “survive” in the kitchen. In addition, an important event of this week was that my dad made it to his birthday 🙂

Hence, this week reminded me that even that I am passionate with what I do, there are other very important things that I also love to do which I have to find time for. To have a balance life. I need to play more !!!. Regarding a balance life, the best talk related to it is from Doris Kearns Goodwin on learning from past presidents please enjoy it:

chocolate VS bombs

week 5 of 2011
Joensuu, Finland

Through my FB, I was shared a video of coca-cola, which I think is very good. The end, is not my maximum, but I understand they needed to announce their product.

I found the commercial with English subtitles. I am glad! Thus, I can share it with a bigger audience in here. From my perspective the commercial is very creative and positive. It encloses also a truth, “You only see what people want you to see”, there are so many ways to see, it is up to us to discover how we want to see…

My favorite statement is the comparison of moms making chocolate cakes VS scientific people creating bombs. So coooool!!!!  and based on a POSITIVE true!!!

The commercial with the song’s lyrics in English and Spanish, and without the English subtitles of the main message, can be found in here. Just be sure that the CC is activated, otherwise the lyrics do not appear.

Finally, well done Argentina, where the commercial was conceptualized!

PS. I really enjoy the creativity in commercials.

muac

week 2 of 2011
from Distrito Federal, Mexico

Days keep on being busy, but I escape and assist to the  MUAC (Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporaneo) , which it is a GREAT museum with FANTASTIC expositions.

Due to the lack of time, I  only visited carefully two exhibitions: Expectografias: memorias e historia, and the art of   Cai Guo Qiang: Resplandor y Soledad. Both exhibitions were very rich and impressive, highly recommended.

Below is a video that I found of Cai Guo Qiang when he did his gunpowder work for the MUAC, you will see how innovative and impressive his work is:
